Our winner of the Layout of the Week goes to Peggy!
This layout is stunning. I love the layers behind that fabulous photo. The floral clusters are just breathtaking. Plus the embellishments on the chippie, and her around the page punching. Just stunning! The layering and clustering is fabulous, and the flower placement is stellar!
Congrats, Peggy! Thank you for posting to the Swirlydoos gallery!

Welcome Limor Webber
We are thrilled to announce that Limor Webber will be joining the Swirlydoos Kit Club Design team as a sponsored educator! Limor will be working with our Mediums or Project/Technique kits each month, showcasing the latest techniques, tips, and tricks. Here is a little information to introduce you to the newest member of our team!
"I am a Mixed Media artist, Product designer and an Educator for several manufacturers in both the Crafting and Arts industry such as Faber Castell, Design Memory Craft, Lindy’s Stamp Gang, Prima Marketing Inc and more. I do have another job of course which is by far the best one! I am a mom to two beautiful daughters and a wife to a husband that is beyond supportive of my passion and my work.
My classes are primarily focused on discovery of mediums and techniques both in the Mixed Media world and Scrapbooking/Crafting industry . I am a technique Junkie which always takes me to a road of discovery myself which in turn I provide to my students. My passion is teaching but more importantly it is my mission in life to enliven others and allow them to discover their hidden talents. I love watching my students find their new self expression in a piece of art especially when at the beginning they feel constrained. I have the privilege to travel around the world and share my passion around the globe."
Using our Super GORGEOUS September, "Vintage Love" kit
So I did a step by step tutorial for you. Here we go:
****************************************************************************
For my background I cut a piece of PP at 5.1/8 x 8.3/4
Using my Distress ink (Tattered Rose & Spun Sugar) I got around the edges of the paper. Then I gently, distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo Distress ink.
Then I cut my second layer of PP at 5 x 8.1/2
I trimmed the edges with deco scissors. This way it is easier to "heavy" distress.
Distressed the edges using the Ingvild Bolme, distressing tool.
Then I glued the second layer to the first and with a little gesso I rubbed the edges. I glued both of these layers to my base card.
I cut the black lace in half
And glued it at the top like so.
I changed the color of the pink lace, by simply using my Vintage Photo Distress inkpad. Swiped it over my craftmat, and spritzed it with water. Then when you add the lace, make sure it is all saturated. Squeeze the lace out and dry with a heat tool.
I glued it at the bottom of my card.
Then I cut 2 of these tiny little strips. On one of the barcode strips there is this print. I cut the barcode strip in half. (lenght-wise)
I inked the edges and glued them at the top, right under my fold back edge, and at the bottom, right under the lace.
I glimmer-misted this beautiful Chipboard piece in gold. Then after it dried I added some multi medium and the mica flakes, that came in the Main Kit, in various spots. After that dried I went over it with a little Inka gold.
I hold the chippie to my card and with a pencil.........
I traced the inner circle.
Then I took some black gesso, (you can use black paint fot it too) and rubbed with my finger over the marked circle.
I stamped and embossed my sentiment.
Then I glued my CB frame to the card.
I glued some tiny featers behind the already beautiful Prima flowers that came in the Main Kit.
And started playing with layering flowers and leaves. As you can see, I always cut my leaves in pieces, to get more use out of them.
Glued the flowers and leaves in place.
I added some pearl strand to the top.
And I brought some hihglights to the center, using Gesso.
I added some liquid pearls to the CB frame, to add even more interest.
and also to the top of the card
and of course the bottom of the card.
And I called it done. I hope you like it.
Have a lovely, creative weekend!

Hi =) I´m here today to share with you my layouts made with the Vintage Love kit. This kit is packed with yummi stuff from Prima and Kaisercraft.
For this layout I used the main kit and the Prima papers that comes in it "Time traveller´s Memories", flowers from the flower add on. I also used the twine and Micro beads from the embellishment add on.
For this layout I´ve used the main kit and flower add on. Love the Mica flakes that comes in the main kit.
My third one is in softer colors, but still the same Prima collection as in the two I´ve shown you.
Here I have used mostly the main kit. The stencil is from the Mediums add on. My fourth and last layout is a lot different than the others. For this I used the Kaisercraft papers and made it a much "cooler" look with lots of stamping and used Gelatos and Distress Stains.
Also for this page I used mostly the main kit. Just added a few black flowers from the flower add on.
Did you know that Swirlydoos Kit Club sends out beautifully coordinated kits every month? Swirlydoos has been sending out top of the line and ever so elegant kits all over the world since 2009. I love getting a box of goodies that all work together so that I don't have to go out and search for things that coordinate. So many bricks and mortar shops have closed up that it's getting harder and harder to find a place stocking all the latest and greatest scrapbook goodies. While Michael's and Hobby Lobby are great for supplies, you sure can't find the newest papers and embellishments in those stores.
If you are interested in receiving Swirlydoos monthly kits, please visit Swirlydoos Kit Club and click on Join Our Club on the left side bar. Be sure to mention my name, Maja, when you subscribe because you will receive a 10% discount on your first kit AND a coupon for 30% off an entire purchase in the Swirlydoos store. Hello friends! I was unable to participate in the reveal blog hop but I have all my projects done and ready to share! First off , this kit is awesome! Lots of new Prima from the Time Traveler's Memories Collection. It's dark with a vintage edge!
I'd like to think my style of scrapping is elegant with a bit of shabby chic. Although, sometimes I like to dabble in the dark side. That's the effect I wanted here for this page. My daughter has the prettiest blue eyes and dark hair. Dark make-up and red lipstick extenuate them more. I thought this pictured was perfect for the feeling I was trying to portray. Normally, Clea does not wear make-up like this. LOL! This was just for fun!

Now back over to the light..hehee!! So, I distress the cardboard the kit came in and glued the heart panel (from the embellie kit) to it making this for my Delilah's room. She loves butterflies and fairies just like her mommy! I painted it all with gesso and used modeling paste to make the polka-dots. Then misted it with Prima mist.
This is the page I created using the monthly sketch.
Lastly, I created this tag. I used the package from the Vine (used on the sketch page from the Flower Add-on)as the main tag. Then layered a bunch of goodies.
Here is the Main Kit.

Hey Savages, it's Kim today to share another layout I did with the Vintage Love kit. This kit has been perfect to showcase the photos I took on our European trip earlier this year. If you have some travel photos waiting to be scrapped, I suggest using this kit.
I used one of the "selfies" that dh and I took on our trip. We took one everyday and tried our best to get some type of landmark in the background. This particular doesn't have a landmark, but was taken on the city bus in Paris.
I used the main kit plus elements from the flower, mixed media and technique add ons. Aren't those little cork hearts from the main kit adorable. I wanted to stick them all over this page.
I used the molds in the technique kit to make the key, lock and the clock that is tucked into my flower cluster. I love the mod molds that come in the kit. You can get yours here.
I did a bit of masking, I thought the circles went well with the jumbo polka dots in my scarf. LOL! I also added lots of clear gesso, stamping and mists. Then at the end, did some highlighting with pan pastels. I have really been loving the effects I get with them lately.
I added a few things from my stash, like the crochet doily and a few pieces of metal. There were plenty of embellishments in this kit without using my stash, but I just couldn't help my self. You know, stop hoarding and start using. LOL!!
I can't believe I am saying this, but I even added journaling to the back of the tag on the left. The tags in this kit make it easy to incorporate it into the design. That has always been my problem with journaling, figuring out where to put it. Alas no more, with these tags. I can actually document (in writing) about our wonderful trip.

This is a very special photograph to me. Yes. its old and tattered, and, even though I tried to restore it a bit, it still shows the signs of extreme wear and tear. But that's no matter, the photo is of my parents and it's one that my Dad has carried in his wallet forever. Now my parents have been married for 70 years!! and this photo was taken before they were married, no wonder the photo is well aged!
The Swirlydoos embellishments add on kit included a Kaisercraft transparency of photo negatives and I've cut the giant negative strip on my layout from that. The main kit features Prima's Time Traveler Memories collection and I love the tags that are included with the papers in the main kit. I've used one of those tags as my title, Together Forever. I think that appropriate for a couple that's been married 70 years!
I did a little stenciling in the right corners using Prima mask Decor 1 and Shimmerz TextureZ in sandy stone. I also lightly stamped randomly with a foam dots stamp using Claudia Hellmuth traditional tan and blank canvas acrylic paints.
Don't you just love the Blue Fern Studios chandelier in the right corner? I painted it with Silks Emperor Gold. It is not as red as it appears, photographing metallics can be so tricky!
Supplies:
Patterned paper: Prima Time Traveler: base - Love, circle - The Traveler, stripe - Dark Lines, center strip - No. 70, large square - Tickets Only, square behind photo - Forever Roses, Tag Me - Tags and Tickets Set, Kaisercraft Art of Life Negatives
Chipboard: Blue Fern Elegant Chandelier
Diecuts and punches: Martha Stewart 3 Dot, Memory Box Large Ringlets
Flowers: Prima Millicent Vine - En Francais, Prima Sandbark flowers,
Masks: Prima Mask Decor 1
Masking paste: Shimmerz Texturez Sandy Stone
Paint: Claudia Hellmuth Traditional Tan and Blank Canvas, Sils Emperoro's Gold
