Hi everyone, Happy Holidays!!!!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Great New Years.

I haven't posted for what seems like forever, because as many of you know I gave birth to my amazing baby boy 5 weeks ago. I'm just starting to craft again now whenever I find time......which unfortunately isn't very often.

Today I just have a quick Snapguide tutorial for you on how to make some easy Christmas cards. while it's too late for this year, it's never to early to start on next years cards.

These cards are made using the December Kit.
Click HERE to view Snapguide tutorial on how I made them

Here is a pic of my little man's very first Christmas.  See you all again next year :D

Hello All,

I hope you have had a fabulous Christmas and are enjoying your Boxing Day!

I just loved this layout, the colours were perfect, the beautiful arrangement of flowers, the treatment of the sparkling chippie was lovely and the scattered sequins with the subtle stencilling and stamping in the background made this a feast for the eyes!

A wonderful take on the sketch!

Congrat Renee!

Hello ladies,

Well Christmas is nearly here! I hope you are all ready for the holiday period and feeling festive.
With just 2 days to go until Christmas Eve is there time to fit in creating a scrapbook page before all the festivities take over? Yes? Well that's why I'm here to show you the challenges on the Swirlydoos Forums to enter into this Christmas time!

First up this week I'm going straight to the All That Flutters Challenge. You can find this challenge HERE.

This challenge is to create a layout, OTP, card or other project using the November Market Street Kit and somewhere on that project then include a 'fluttering element ( bird, butterfly fairy, angel, bee etc )
this fluttering element doesn't have to be from the kit if there isn't one included in the kit.

We have a stunning entry from Peggy for this challenge who created a masculine page from the kit.

Also running this month is the Sketch challenge. You can find this challenge on the forums HERE

Here is a reminder of the beautiful sketch

Here is a beautiful layout created for this challenge by Renee.

I hope your inspired now to join us and find a little scrappy time to have some fun!

I would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Hello swirly ladies,

Due to the fact no projects have been uploaded to the forum or Facebook page during this busy holiday time, we will not be posting a LOTW (layout of the week) this week.

We hope you all have some scrapping time this week to treat us to some wonderful projects for next week!

In the mean time pop over to the forums for the details of our challenges that are going on this month.

Happy Scrapping  :)

There is a SNAPGUIDE Tutorial with this project which you can find with the link below

Here are a few close ups of the Hand Made flowers on the card.

Hello all,

Peggy smashed this months sketch with her gorgeous layout!

I loved the use of the Shabby Chic Treasure frame and the perfect stamping which really set the layout off! Her flower clusters with the little bits of bling and metals finished of a truly lovely layout!

Congrats Peggy on Layout of the Week!
Hello all,

Today it's my turn to share with you my Design Team Projects for the Swirlydoos Kit Club 'Market Street' Kit reveal.
This kit features beautiful papers from 49 and Market 'Botanical Heirlooms' collection. I adored these papers and as always the kit included some gorgeous embellishments!

I'm going to start with the

SKETCH CHALLENGE.

We have a beautiful new look sketch this month designed by our very own DT member Kim. Details of the challenge are on the forum HERE

Here is my take on the sketch.

I used the papers 'The Patch' and 'Passage' from the Heirloom Botanicals collection for this layout.
There is some fussy cutting to create the flower embellishments and cutting into the paper to slip in the lace. I have used products from the Main kit, Flower, Embellishment and Mediums Add On kits.

SOMEONE SPECIAL LAYOUT

Next I'm going to show you another layout using the Duty Attic chipboard piece from the Embellishment Add On.

I used paper 'Faded Bloom' for this layout. I altered my chipboard with a Lindys Stamp Gang embossing powder Geranium Coral Blush, from a previous kit.
I used the Prima Memory Hardware Artisan powder 'French sage' in the background of my flower clusters to deepen the cluster and give it some 'undergrowth' background.
I have used the Main, Flower, Embellishment and Mediums Add On kits.

Next up is my

ALL THAT FLUTTERS CHALLENGE LAYOUT

For this challenge use the November 'Market Street’ kit and Kit Add-ons to create a scrapbook layout, OTP project, tag or card including anything that ‘flutters’ somewhere within that project i.e butterflies, dragonflies, bees, ladybugs, birds, fairies
More details of the challenge are on the Forum HERE

Here is my layout

I used the paper 'Oasis' for this layout. I tore the paper into 3 and then turned the middle piece over and used the reverse side in my layout.
The sewing machine came out for this layout!
I used products from the Main, Flower, Cardstock, Embellishment and Medium Add On Kits.

ANATOMY LAYOUT

You may have seen this already in the reveal post but if you haven't this is my anatomy layout.
This layout is made from the Main Kit only.
You can find the SNAPGUIDE tutorial for this layout HERE

Lastly for today is my

TECHNIQUE KIT PROJECT CANVAS

I thoroughly enjoyed this project - a 12x12 canvas and some Bare Basics 'Love' Letters.
I did a Mixed Media background and then had fun with the flowers!

There is a SNAPGUIDE tutorial to go with this to show you my process in creating this.
You can find it HERE

Here  are some close ups.

Thank you for stopping by today,
I hope you enjoyed your visit

Wow! November sure got away from me. How about you? I typically scrap the entire kit but, this month I still have several sheets of paper left and the December kit has already arrived.

I have a feeling December is going to fly by as well.

So, first let me share my interpretation of the beautiful monthly sketch that Kim created for us.

This layout showcases a photo of my son who is now 23 years old. (Talk about time flying!)

Here's Kim's wonderful sketch.

And, this is my take on the sketch.

I did some random stamping on the background as well as some splats of Glimmer Mist. The 12x12 Dusty Attic chippy was cut in pieces and treated with Prima Color Blooms. The flowers are from the kit, flower add on and my stash. I made some flowers using a Heartfelt creations die and stamp set. I will share a video tutorial with you today on how I made them.

Next, I worked on the All that Flutters challenge.

For this one, I cut apart the 49 and Market flower spray so I could use it on both sides of the layout. The wooden word piece was sprayed with adhesive and then covered with Prima foil. There is some fussy cutting amongst the flower clusters. The doily is a Prima die.

Here's a fun one that is actually a Christmas gift for one of my technicians. (I stole the senior picture of her daughter off of her Facebook page. hehe!)

Torn paper diagonally on the layout seems to be a thing right now. Have you noticed? Anyway, I did a little bit of a twist on that. The sunburst stenciling under the photo is a Tim Holtz stencil with Wendy Vecchi embossing paste. The title is a Creative Embellishments chippie that was covered with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel in platinum.

Here's one more of my cute little fluff ball. He got a cut and color at the groomer's for Thanksgiving. Yes, I did say color! He gets his feet and ears colored. This time they looked yellow so he got the nickname of "Cheeto" from my niece and nephew.

Random stamping and stenciling with Wendy Vecchi black embossing paste on the background. The stencil is made by Dusty Attic. The wooden banner was tucked into the flower cluster so all you can see is the word "you." Then, I added the "love" embellishment over the top to make the title for the page "love you." Flowers are from the main kit and flower add on. There is some more fussy cutting in the flower clusters here, too.

Ok, now on to the tutorial for this Saturday.

This one is on making your own flowers using stamps and dies that you have on hand. I will show you how to shape your diecuts to create beautiful three dimensional flowers.

Here's a close-up.

Here's the video tutorial.
