Happy Saturday to all of you lovely crafters! In the August Mediums Add-on kit we received Ferro from Viva Decor. If you've never used it before, you must get some! It's a thick metallic texture paste and it is the "in thing" to use with masks and stencils. Did you know that you can also use with stamps? Well, you can, and in this Saturday's video tutorial, I show you one way to incorporate this technique into your projects. Here is a tag I made with the green Ferro and the fence from the August main kit:
"Fashionista" Layout
I made this layout for Christy's SGC (Swirly Girl Challenge) this month. The challenge is to "transform" a sheet of paper using different media. Check out her challenge and all of the fabulous entries HERE. I loved every sheet of the paper in this kit, so I wasn't sure I wanted to transform it! This is an excellent challenge for getting messy, and I just couldn't pass up an opportunity like this, so thanks, Christy!
Here's a close up to see exactly how I transformed the paper:
I started by spreading a quick layer of Martha Stewart Crackle Medium and let it dry. It was a really thin coat and didn't result in any crackling, I was still happy with the texture it created. Next, I wiped a distress ink pad over it to tone down the starkness of the white medium. Next I used two mists: black Smooch spritz and Lindy's Stamp Gang teal. The sprayers on both mists clogged, so I just took them off and flicked the bottom of the nozzle and decided to embrace whatever would happen. I LOVE how the black came out! To finish the transformation of the paper, I used the pink Smooch ink that came in the kit on a script stamp roller.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my projects! Be sure to watch the video tutorial about the Ferro and stamping!
Have a wonderful weekend!
And a close up for more detail:
Here's another:
So check out the video tutorial:
Here are a couple of other projects I made with the Passion Berry kit:
"Just for You" Card
I had these scraps form some other projects I made with the kit. I added a doily that I misted with my favorite pink: Tattered Angels Vintage Pink. I also stuck in some cheesecloth remnants for a soft effect.

Hello everyone! Angelica here sharing two more projects using the gorgeous Passion Berry Kit.
First up is a card. I'm not much of a cardmaker. I find it hard to work on such a little space. But, Paulien gives us step by step card tutorials and I get inspired. To see these tutorial please visit our It's All About Cards Thread. So, here it is.....sweet and simple!
Next up is a book box I altered. I LOVE these paper machete faux books! I have like 10 of them in different sizes, sitting waiting to be played with! I just painted it with gesso, sprayed with glimmer mist and prettied it up with the kits papers and embellishments. Don't you just love the fence...super cute!

Hi everyone, Vicky blogging today. I was on holidays and missed out on participating in the monthly blog hop reveal but here is a peek at all of the things I was able to create with the beautiful August "Passion Berry" kit...
These were my favourite papers in the kit and the flowers and Prima doors are just gorgeous!
I started off with the monthly Swirlydoos sketch but my layout took on a life of its own from there. The flowers and trim this month are truly fantastic!
I adore the colors in this kit... the blues are really heavenly and perfect for boy layouts. Don't you love that cute fence in the kit too?
My daughter begged me to make something for her so I created a "pinkalicious" tissue box for her room. The flower is handmade using my tutorial.
I also created a headband with some left over trim and flower from the kit. My daughter was thrilled.
Here is a simple card using some of my scraps and flowers from the kit. I can't get enough of that fence and still have some left over for another project!
Lastly, I couldn't resist sanding the textured cardstock and fussy cutting a frame from one of the papers. Really fun bling in this kit to play with!
Well, I pretty much managed to use almost every bit of this kit. As you can see, it is a very versatile kit! PLEASE NOTE: that I have added lots of gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard from my stash to complement this beautiful summer kit. In 3 of my projects, I used the pretty pink Silks glaze that was provided in the "Passion Berry" kit to polish off the chipboard.

As soon as I seen this layout entered in the sketch and butterfly challenge I knew it would be the chosen layout of this week. The adorable photos immediately caught my eye...such a cute little face!! Then the lovely soft colors and amazing colored masking. All in all a stunning layout worthy of LOTW!! Congrats Linda!

Hope everyone had a fantastic week!! Here at Swirlydoos we have been having a blast with this month's kit, Passion Berry. The colors are so vibrant and rich and the color combinations are endless.
A couple of weeks ago I posted a video on how to make a mixed media layout. This week we use that same background to complete the layout using fussy cut pieces. You can see more details for this layout on my blog.
This kit has the BEST fussy cut page from IOD. The colors are soft and the images are spectacular.
Can't do a fussy cut layout you say? P'SHAW I say! Watch my step by step tutorial to show you how to create layer upon layer surrounding your photo, and then get scrapping and give it a try. You may find a new technique to fall in love with.

We've all been enjoying sinking our teeth into the pink of the August kit, and Jodie's sweet layout is no exception.
All of the different shades of pink paired with the white create such an amazing softness! The dainty punching and doily die cuts that Jodie paired together are so elegant, making this a perfect layout to showcase a picture of a darling little gal!
Thanks for posting your layout to the gallery, Jodie, and Congrats!!

This month we received two types of pearl mediums in the August kit collection: Liquid Pearls in the tech kit, and a Viva Pearl pen in the mediums add-on kit. Theoretically, this two mediums do the same thing, RIGHT? Well, I put them both to the test to see how they faired making a pearl bling flourish in this video:
It's kind of funny, or maybe I just suck at using Liquid Pearls! :) Either way, give it a look, and maybe you all can give ME some tips. LOL!
Have a lovely Saturday! I hope you all get to do something scrappy!!
