***TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE***
Got a surprise especially for you,
Something that both of us have always wanted to do.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
I'm gonna take you on a trip so far from here,
I've got two tickets in my pocket, now baby, we're gonna disappear.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
We've waited so long, waited so long.
I've got two tickets to paradise,
Won't you pack your bags, we'll leave tonight,
I've got two tickets to paradise,
I've got two tickets to paradise.

With summer coming to a close for some, marking the end of getaway vacations, We bring to you Rae's version of Paradise...Toes in the sand, looking out over to the clear blue water and skies. No worries in the world..Well, at least not while you are momentarily lost in Paradise....The photo reads like a romance novel...Love love the colors chosen for this layout! The soft blues and greens that mimic the water and sky. The layering of the different patterns softened by the flow of flowers and vines. The sweet little birds flitting around the title gives this layout a sweetness to it. Yes...Looks like paradise to us!! Enjoy the rest of your summer...The autumn leaves are about to head our way..And that's another story...

The Little Mermaid
By Hans Christian Andersen
By Hans Christian Andersen
(1836)
Far out in the ocean, where the water is as blue as the prettiest cornflower,
cornflower, and as clear as the purest glass.
But it is very deep too.
It goes down deeper than any anchor rope will go,
and many, many steeples would have to be stacked,
one on top of another to reach from the bottom to the surface of the sea.
It is down there that the sea folk live.

Good Morning and Happy Friday to all of our friends!
I hope you have all been having a wonderful summer. I know it has been very hot and very dry for some of you. I hope that the fall will bring some better weather your way.
Lots going on this week. Add-ons have been delayed. There was a typhoon in Thailand which delayed a big shipment of Prima. I hope that the typhoon went through with minimal damage and no one was hurt. Keep checking back in with us. I'm sure you will see that birdie flying around soon. :)
Our July Sketch challenge came to an end. We had a random drawing and the winner is our friend Shell!!! Isn't her son just as cute as he can be!!! Love the little backpack. Gorgeous job Shell!! Congratulations.
Our August Kit Sketch challenge is underway. I hope you can join us! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

We all know that Irene's pages are out of this world. Well, for her turn at the Anatomy, she is doing something a little different. She is giving us a tutorial on how she created her background on this STUNNING page!!!! Here we go!
Supplies:
12x12 paper
Iron Gate die cut
Mask
Gesso
Palette Knife
Shimmerz – 2 colors
Distress Ink
Iron Gate die cut
Mask
Gesso
Palette Knife
Shimmerz – 2 colors
Distress Ink
Step 1
Put the mask over the patterned paper and randomly apply some white gesso on it using a palette knife. Let it dry. Do not remove the mask. Step 2
Mist two colours of Shimmerz mist on it. Later, use a wet wipe and wipe off any inks which are on top of the areas with gesso. Let it dry. Do not remove the mask. Step 3
Enhance the masking with Faded Jeans distress ink and a sponge or the distress ink applicator. Then only remove the mask.
Step 4
Use a brush and Peeled Paint distress ink to color part of the masked image. (Swipe some distress ink onto a non stain mat and mist of water over it. Use a brush to pick up the colours to paint.) Step 5
Cut a portion of the die cut gate piece and attach it to the right of the layout.

I'm a little late with posting this blog post, due to NO internet.
I was really upset by it, cause I so badly wanted to share the next two cards.
First, this Gorgeous card, by Rae
Linda got inspired by this month's (tutorial) card. Look at the delicate distressing and careful chosen colors.
Her way of using the trims are so gorgeous. All topped of with that lovely tag and beautiful flowers.
I was so pleased to see a few cards being submitted to the gallery this week. Think about how happy you make someone, when they recieve such a beautiful card. Cards are so fun to make and awesome to recieve.
And Krissy has the most amazing stuff in the Swirlydoos Store, to create the most beautiful cards.

Look at how well balanced this is. The gorgeous punch-work has such a lovely finishing touch,
because Rae added the pearl strand. The frame around the sentiment, is just so beautifully decorated. An awesome piece of work!!

Don't Blink!
Two tiny footprints these may be
But soon a much bigger pair you'll see
Walk, run, jump, hop or even ski
Leaving prints that will make you smile with glee.
This face will change to a certain degree
These feet will also grow and it's a guarantee
So please don't blink I hereby decree
Or else you won't be able to recognize me!
This week we bring you this incredibly beautiful LO by Meg...The photo's are of her husband and sweet, sweet boys that are growing from babies to big boys!! And soon, they will be young men, so as the title suggests, Dont Blink...Love the love the grunge clock representing time as it slips away. The film strips that hold memories of capturing time and making it stand still while all the while, it keeps slipping away. Love love the flowers and the clock hands on that one. The design is shear perfection. the layering and distressing and the stamping is a perfect touch!! Beautiful job Meg!! We really adore this one!!So those of you with little ones, love them and hold them tight while you can, because...
Don't Blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink...

This week we bring to you the gorgeous work of Helena ala Finnabair style!! We were blown away at the mix of 2 very distinct styles rolled into one knockout page! Helena created this layout for a Dusty Attic challenge to lift one of their designers. So she chose to lift Ann's style which is very unique. Helena used Swirlydoos July kit and lots of misting and inking. The blue colors are just incredible as she blends them perfectly. The way the photo's are framed is just sheer magic. Helena, you have "Hit this one out of the ballpark" as we say in America!! A true Swirlydoos Home Run!!!
Please visit Helena's blog for more gorgeous inspiration!!

Today I want to share an amazing tag with you which is created by Scrap2day.
She created this lovely tag from our previous Vintage Fae kit and the other items came in earlier kits.
I think this tag is so pretty in details.
Tags are great, to try out some new techniques or using up your scraps and little, left over embellies.
I would love to see some more tags in the gallery so......
how about... we all give it a try, with our left overs, from previous kits or maybe even this month's
The card tutorial for this month will be up by tommorow so keep your eye on the tutorial section.
