Well, we got back from CHA LATE last night, and I'm so excited to share some of the wonderful projects and products that we saw! Of course, this is only a snippet of what we saw, and you will be able to see ALL of the wonderful treasures we came across in the kits in the coming months. But, for now, check out these:

First stop: PRIMA!!!!!!

Prima really blew it out of the water with their new products! I could have taken WAAAAAY more pictures, but I think you will get the idea!

First, I know what I HAD to see first was the new Color Bloom mists! And, we were NOT disappointed! CLICK HERE to see a short video of Krissy playing with these mists.
The nozzle is awesome! I didn't see any of the mists clog when we were playing with them. We walked into the booth while make and takes were going on, and NEVER saw any clogs. And, should they clog, you can open it up and flick it to unclog it, we were told. ALSO, there is a HUGE amount of mica in these sprays, and they recommend filling them up with water to extend the amount of sprays you can get out of this bottle.

Here are some other products we were eyeing:

You can see some lace stickers in the background of this pic of the new Ingvild Bolme Picture Frame:

We REALLLLLLLLY love this frame!!!!!

This is a gorgeous piece by Ania Dabrowska:

Here are a couple of pictures of a canvas that has that amazing new wire in it:
You can get a better idea of how it's used here. Look at that dimension:

And, we also stopped in to check out the projects in the Idea-ology booth:

That dragonfly is made using one of the new cut and emboss dies!

And, here are some other random inspiring projects:

The Ranger booth also had amazing projects to see:

I was blown away by this canvas by Donna Downey:

DIMENSION!!!!!!

And, Dina Wakley has an amazing new line of media, brushes, stencils and stamps. I opened that jar of black gesso: I think this is THE ONE!!!!!! It's super thick- PERFECT for masks and stencils!

And, I'll leave you with a couple of trims we found that are oh-so-elegant, and we MOOOOST have them!

Be on the look out for many new products coming to the STORE! Some are already available for pre-order, like the new Marion Smith Bloom Impressions Flower Tool!!!!!!

This weeks layout was based on the January Sketch. Although, Sherri made it all here own! The way she used the photo in replacement of a circle is genius! Here masking is amazing and all that pink against Journey's dark coat is divine! Congrats, Sherri!

What would Swirlydoos be without our wonderful subscribers?!? It's a pleasure getting to know these ladies on the forums and from the stories they tell through their layouts. Yes,we are an amazing community, but most of all, we're a family! We appreciate each and every member and they deserved to be spotlighted. With that being said, our featured member for January is.....

Misha

Here is a bit from Misha:

I  am the mother of two beautiful children, Melania 8, and Maddox 4, who are my muses for all my creations. By trade, I am a restaurant General Manager specializing in seafood and asian cuisine. I have worked many years behind the scenes in as a chef creating many different flavors with food.

Although I do work many long hours, scrapbooking is my favorite form of creative expression. I started scrapbooking when my daughter was born 8 years ago as a way to capture and document all our special moments and favorite memories. I became a Swirly Girly in 2011. I stumbled onto the Swirlydoos blog somehow and fell in love with the gorgeous kits that Krissy puts together.

As the market has changed over the years, so has my style. It seems the days of cutting and glueing photos and paper are long gone. I love working all the newest mixed media products and techniques. I do try to particate in some of the monthly Swirly challenges to admire the projects of my fellow Swirly Girlies and get inspiration from our amazing DT.

Fotunately, I have the support of my husband and family who are my biggest scrapbooking fans.

Here are a some of my favorite projects of Misha's, sure to inspire you!!

Happy Saturday!

Most Swirly Girls have a major stash of chipboard! I KNOW I do! It's my New Year's resolution to use more of my stash, so I am starting with chipboard! I've been using a lot of it lately, and I've been using this technique that incorporates gesso, embossing powders, mists, and inks: perfect for getting your hands messy with all sorts of different media!!!

So, here's an example of what the technique looks like:

And, here's the video:

Thanks for watching, and be sure to share your projects on the forums in our tutorials section if you decide to use this technique so we can see!!!!

Have a lovely weekend!

This is the last layout of the week for 2014! And, this week the honor goes to Peggy for this treasure:

I can't say enough about this layout. First, the picture: can babies get any cuter? I love it so much! And, Peggy's design is elegant! From the fussy cutting to the beautiful arrangement of the embellies- it's perfect and does exactly what layouts should do: draw your eye right to the picture.

Congrats, Pegs! Thanks for uploading your creations in the gallery!
