One Wednesday out of every month we would like to to feature a Swirly Sisters' Blog. Our amazing ladies are incredibly talented and work wonders with Swirlydoos Kits.

This week our featured Blogger is Mandy A.K.A Kasha Gray

Please visit her blog for Swirly inspiration: Life's Treasures

I love to dream

Mandy used the Swirlydoo's March Kit "Cabaret".  Her gorgeous layering of papers and embellishments are exactly what the Swirly girls love. Such an inspiration!

Thank you so much Mandy, for sharing your talent with us!

Happy F-R-I-D-A-Y!!!!!!!!

OMGoodness, is it just me or has this week been a drag?  I am so happy to be within spittin' distance of Saturday so that I can roll around in all of the glorious yummy-ness that is the Swirlydoos April kit.   Reveal day for the April kit is closer than you think and you are in for a serious treat.

Quick update....we have raised enough money to buy 2...that's right 2 iPads for Autism!!!!  YAY!  We are close to buying our 3rd and just need a little more and we'll be there.  If you can find a way, we would really appreciate your support and donation.

OK, so what has been going on with our savages this week?
  • Well, our very own Irene Tan posted her first video tutorial!  Can you believe it?  I couldn't.  I mean, this is Irene we are talking about here.  As you can imagine the video is smokin' hot and I loooooooove her flowers.  Hop on over to our tutorials section and check out her video.  You can click HERE to go see it.
  • Our SGC (Swirly Girl Challenges) for this month are winding down and you really have to see the entries.  I may be bias, but I doubt it, because we really have the most creative bunch of artists there are.  Really, it's true.  I wouldn't lie to you; cross my heart.
  • Our on-going monthly challenges are winding down as well.  Our monthly Kit Sketch Challenge and Angelica's Butterfly challenge have produced some of the most outstanding entries I've seen around.  It seems like month after month our savages bring it!  They step up to the plate and then kick it up a notch and top themselves every month.  Good stuff!!!
  • Our monthly Round Robin challenge IS the best Round Robin to be found anywhere.  Every one pushes their own level of creativity and raises the bar for the next person on their team.  If you are looking to grow in your craft this is without a doubt the place to be.  Sign-ups are going on right now for April so head on over and sign up.
  • We now have a new and separate section dedicated to the Anatomy of a Page.  Each month a member of the Design Team with take you through their creative process.
  • Our lay out of the week is by our own Mandy H.  All I can say is wow.  Mandy is one incredibly talented artist.  You HAVE to check out her page.  Congratulations Mandy!!!
  • Our scrapbook question of the week was posted by one of our savages.  Here is her question:  Do you start with the picture or the paper?  Head on over and let us know what you do.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Creatively yours,
Lisa XO

Hi bloggers!  I thought it might be a great idea to give you a weekly update of things going on at Swirlydoos and on the user's forum.  If you haven't visited the forums recently you really should.  Here is a quick summary of the newest things going on:

  • 2nd Annual Swirly Girls' Challenge - This is where YOU get to host a challenge!  Our savage members all signed up for a month and then we set two of them loose each month on the rest of our unsuspecting subscribers to host a challenge of their own design!  Everyone waits in anticipation to see what the challenge will be.  This month our SGC challenges are Funny Faces and Strictly Homemade.  Click HERE to check out these challenges for more details as well as the other regular monthly challenges that are being held.
  • iPads for Autism - Our previous post introduced you to this very worthy fund raiser.  Right now we have raised 50% of the funds needed to buy one iPad.  We really need your help in raising the other half so that we can offer a child a doorway to a whole new world.  Click on the link on the right to donate and make a child smile!  Thank you
  • We have 3, that's right...3 NEW tutorials posted this month. They are: Swirly Hibiscus Flowers, Making your own Background Paper, and Emerging Color Stamping Technique.  Click HERE to go to our Tips, Tricks and Techniques forum.
  • Did you know that we have a Photography and Photoshop forum complete with tutorials?  Well, we do because Swirly Girls ROCK!  Check it out.  Click HERE.
  • Our Layout of the Week is nothing short of amazing and was created by our very own  Shelly M.  Click HERE to see her amazing creation.
  • Have you checked out the store lately?!  OMGoodness.....there are some seriously incredible new items coming in often.  But, you have to be quick.  The savages are fast with that "buy now" button and aren't afraid to hip check you to get some yummy goodness! Things sell out fast.   :D
Scrapbook Question of the Week:  How do you store your photographs? Is there a really good way to store them?  Click HERE to let us know.

I am lighting a Mojo candle for all of you and hoping that you have a fabulously inspiring and creative weekend!!!

Until next week my savages - XO

Ohhhhhhhhhh my goodness.

I'm SO sorry we weren't able to be posting on the blog more during our CHA trip but we just NEVER had time to get online!! We were so crammed busy with classes and the show that we probably got about 10 hours of sleep in the 5 nights we stayed in Los Angeles!  *Grinz*  But it was a freakin' BLAST!!!

Let's go over some of the highlights of the show! We've got TONS of photos of new product and inspirational projects! We would like to know what YOUR favorite CHA W2011 release was?

Check out THIS fashion show - ladies!  Can YOUR paper do this?

Amazing aren't they?!

A final parting shot that was taken of our bathroom.

I can't seem to find the photo of our ROOM which is by and far the scariest hotel room I've ever seen! If anyone grabbed a photo please send it to me and I'll get it posted. There wasn't a  single clear spot to sit in that room - what with all the product being thrown about - and then Rae - (With a "Y") rolling around in it!

Helloooooooooooooooooo ladies!

We are coming to you LIVE from.... err... well - to be honest? My hotel room floor.  Yes, I admit that it is 2:58 (A.M.), I am just crawling in from a very late meeting with Creative Imaginations and my CHA roomies are fast asleep getting the MUCH needed beauty rest that "I" need! LOL!!

Today is day TWO of our stay in downtown Los Angeles. The show hasn't officially opened yet but we've had a fantastic day learning new techniques, testing new products and sharing in scrappy buddy company!

The show officially opens tomorrow morning but we spent our entire (E-N-T-I-R-E) day in classes learning lots of fantastic tips and tricks to share with YOU! While my partners in crime are fast asleep at this un-Godly hour, I shall post some photos of our day 1.

Here is Bonnie, Shelly and Rae at the CRACK-OF-FREAKIN'-DAWN at the Tattered Angels 101 class. I have to say that Tattered Angels really did an exceptional job putting this program together! Not only was the class well prepared, well instructed and extremely informative, but it was a LOT of fun!

Wendy Senger, creator of the now famed (and crazily imitated) Glimmer Mist, put on a fan-tastic class! Wendy is a very sweet, funny, knowledgeable woman who definitely knows her way around misting, glamming and glazing.  Here we sat... 5 well seasoned (or so we thought) scrapbookers, and we had MUCH to learn from the fabulous Miss Senger! We are happy to report that we all walked away with a much better understanding of Glimmer mist and the numerous ways in which to use it! Be watching our techniques and tutorials section for more on getting the most from your Glimmer Mists, Glams and Glazes~

"What is that amazing piece of art they are so proud of?" You ask?

This is the doll baby that our girls are so proud of! Lookie what we've learned to do! And you're going to be learning it next! What good is knowledge if we don't share?

Savages are happy to share and share alike! (except on "add-on" day!)

Awwww! Look ladies - this is a NEW Savage Sister!  Here is Miss Deb L. and Krissy at the Tattered Angels class! Deb has been a member of Swirlydoos for quite a few months and we were SO happy to finally be able to meet this sweet, sweet woman in person! What a wonderful and talented woman Deb is - we're so happy to have her with us!

The Tattered Angels class finally came to an end =o(

Your Swirlydoos representatives worked their magic and had some seriously inked up fingers by the time it was all over! We say, "BRING ON THE INKY MESS!"

Here is Bonnie and Shelly after finishing up the ArtC mixed media ATC class. It was a nice class - a bit rushed for SOME of us, but we really enjoyed getting familiar with the Copic (mooooost have) markers! heheheh!

We also had the privilege of attending the Graphic 45 Steampunk, Mixed Media class taught by Candy Rosenberg. Candy is an excellent instructor and her class was a fun one to take! This class will stretch the imagination and skills of most crafters and help you to be comfortable working with new, A-Typical media while expanding your comfort zones and bringing your crafting to the next level.

Photos will be coming of the Steampunk Mixed Media project - when they are ... uhm... finished! LOL

Big huge thanks to  Glue Arts, G45, Zip Dry and many many others for making this class as fantastic as it was!

We'll be posting more tomorrow from the show floor! Stay tuned!
