It's Saturday! Today I'm sharing a video tutorial of this layout that I made using the Authetique papers from the Artful Blues kit:

I love the Authentique papers so much! There are perfect for masculine layouts. (I ALWAYS add flowers though. :) )

And I had the most darling burlap stars in my stash to add to "boy it up."

I decided to use a gesso technique I learned in an Ania Dabrowska class a couple of years ago.

So, I hope you get a chance to check out the video today:

Hi =) Today it´s my turn to inspire you with some project made with the February kit " Artful Blues". I have 3 layouts to show you so lets begin.

First up is this page with lots of stamps and mixed media. I´ve used some Gelatos, modelling paste and a stencil. Some torn papers and several of the gorgeous Die Cut frames that comes with the Embellishment Kit.

My next page is a simple one... only papers and embellishments. Love those wooden doors from Prima.

And here is my last page with earthy color tones. I´ve used the Authentique papers from the kit.

Thanks for stopping by =)

Hi everybody! I have more inspiration from the February kit, Artful Blues, to share with you today. I adore the colors in this kit - from dark gray til deep blue, such a gorgeous color combo!

To purchase your very own Swirlydoos kit, visit Swirlydoos website!

I just love the large, blue flowers that comes with the flower add-on. They really make any page or project pop! The felt border in the background is amazing, it adds so much to this layout!

Close-ups:

Just look at this fantastic flower!

I cut small pieces of the chicken wire and added here and there, this and the background paper gives a rustic feel to this otherwise romantic layout.

My second layout for today is a mixed media one. I have played with gesso, clear gesso, masks, mists and then I did a lot of layering. I have also used the scraps from the felt border from the first layout - so don't throw that away, it can be used!

Close-ups:

Chicken wire, cheese cloth and lots of flowers!

I simly love the mirror feathers!

The chipboard fence is from Dusty Attic. I painted it white and distressed the edges. It goes so well with the fence in the photo.

Thank you for stopping by today!

xoxo

Happy hump day! I'm sharing today a layout and a card I made using the February Kit, Artful Blues.

I loved that Krissy was able to get in two shades of blue and some grayish brown. So for this layout I wanted to use the darker shades and do a some layering.
For the BFS chipboard I painted it with a heavy white gesso giving it some texture. Then just misted and dabbed on a bit of Sorbet Dimensional Paint that came in the Mediums add-on.

This is a close-up of the cluster in the upper right corner. I used one of the die cut frames and sayings from the embellie kit.

I'm not the greatest at making cards. But sometimes I get an itch to work on a smaller scale. After working with the dark brown and blues I wanted to use lighter tones.

Although I LOVE making and seeing layouts of our beautiful families for general purposes, taking joy in the everyday moments, I love a layout that tells of an event. I really love Heather's layout she has made for the Artful Blues sketch challenge!

Heather recently had a stroke and didn't even know it. This is a picture of her eye after the stroke. It's really amazing, not to mention the fine details on the layout. It's a beautiful design, and kind of dark in a way, which I love. Thanks for sharing this, Heather, and congrats on getting Layout of the Week!

Happy Saturday! By now, our subscribers have received their AMAZING Artful Blues kit, and hopefully you are creating something with it this weekend! Today, I have a video for you using the "mediums" add on from the February kit that features some really cool Art Anthology products. (There are still some kits in the store HERE.)

If you have been a subscriber for a while, you may have used the "sorbet" dimensional paints from past kits, and you already know how wonderful they are. But, new for us is the "stucco" texture paste, so I've experimented with it to find out what works and what does not and I'm showing you that in the video, in addition to creating a mixed media background for a layout with all of the products, along with some gesso and mist from my stash. This is the result:

And here are some closeups of the completed layout that show how it works with the rest of the items on the page.

The cheesecloth gives it an extra softness and flow.

I love that drip!

And, here's the video:

I hope you get a chance to play with these products, or at least get to do something scrappy today!

Each week, a layout is selected from our Facebook gallery to be showcased as our layout of the week. At the end of the month, the design team votes on the layouts that were selected each week, and the winner gets the honor of being layout of the month. At the end of the year, we vote for Layout of the Year, and the winner of that title will receive a prize, which may include a guest design team spot!

You ladies out did yourself for the month of January and we had ties, which is the reason for the delay, but ultimately, our winner is Agnieszka with this stunning layout:

The combination of the feathers, pearls, and "goop", along with the snowflakes create such an enchanting winter feel! Such a beautiful design!

Congrats!
