Hey Savages we have a special guest on the blog today with a tutorial using the October project kit. Rae actually designed this this project kit and today she is sharing a video tutorial on her step by step process.

 Happy Saturday!

It's Rae sharing a video tutorial that I did f using their October project kit. The kit was built based on a project I designed a couple of months ago, and I was thrilled to be asked to do a tutorial to share with you. ☺

This project is so simple, and can be made in a matter of minutes! The most time consuming part is applying the Prima rub on transfer, but it's easy to do, and is stunning on the wood plank from Jillibean Soup.

With the exception of using embossing powder on the chipboard, everything you see comes in the October project add on kit, including ALL of those gorgeous Prima flowers. You can purchase this kit, as well as a wide variety of others in the Swirlydoos store

Check out the quick video tutorial here:

Thanks for taking the time to stop by the Swirlydoos blog today!

Morning everyone!

Its Ginny here with you today for the Saturday tutorial.

I am going to show you my step by step process of how I created this Altered Clipboard with the Swirlydoos October 'Rose Garden' Kit.

I love finding new ways to show off the Swirlydoos kits and create a 'layout' in different way. So this time I chose a A5 size clipboard to do my 'layout' on. Hope you like it!!

I have made a SNAPGUIDE TUTORIAL for this project here

Hey savages, Kim here to share another layout I created with the Swirlydoos *Rose Garden* Kit. This kit was packed full of papers and embellishment from Prima Rossibella line. This is an amazing kit. Your pictures just really want to be on these papers. Once I started creating I couldn't stop.

Today I have a mixed media heavy layout.
I started this with a cardstock base. I like to do that when I am adding a lot of mediums to my paper. It helps to keep my paper from buckling, plus it gives it a stronger base.

Next I cut and distressed the edges of 2 separate sheets of paper and glued them down. The top sheet got a quick coat of clear gesso, so my mist didn't soak into the papers. The I did some stenciling with 2 different stencils. I topped that off with some random stamping (I used a waterproof ink because I was going to do some misting next. Didn't want my ink to run).

Then I started layering my picture, flowers, lace and bling. Once I had everything in place, I started adding the art stones and prills. After everything was dry, I added some more mist with a paint brush.

Here are some close ups:

Hello, Swirly Savages. I am excited to share with you a video tutorial featuring the October project kit. This kit features a Jillibean wooden plaque, IOD transfer, and lots of Prima flowers. Sounds awesome, right?

Rae, a Swirlydoos Design Team member, was the inspiration for this project kit and certainly the inspiration for my OTP. I used her technique to alter the Dusty Attic chipboard. Her tutorial can be found here. It's my favorite way to alter chipboard.

Here's my finished plaque.

Here's a close up of the altered Dusty Attic chippy.

A few more close ups.

Here's the video.

Hey Ladies!!

It's my turn today to share with you my projects made with the October Swirlydoos Kit  reveal.

This was the most beautiful kit and it didn't last long! I loved creating with these beautiful Prima Rossibelle papers, and the gorgeous embellishments and flowers that Krissy chose to go with them!

So lets start with my take on the October Sketch Challenge.

I cut circles of PP to put under my glass beads.

The chipboard was embossed with white embossing powder on a stencilled texture paste background.
I cut and separated the panels in the wood panel paper, distressed them and put them back together on a piece of cardstock.

I fussy cut the birdcage and used the die of the month for the swirl flourishes.

The Hunkydory Silhouette Butterfly laser cuts were spritzed with the Prima Color Bloom 2 Golden Walnut Mist.

Next up is my inspirational layout for the All That Flutters Challenge on the Swirlydoos Forum.

I used the Dusty Attic stencil on this layout with the pink Viva Décor Ferro Raspberry from the mediums kit.
I wanted to use parts from both sides of the 'Lucky Charm' Paper, which I did on this layout and then completed the it by mounting it on a piece of black cardstock.

I used the Viva Ferro on the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Arrows.
I used Distress Ink Black Soot to bring all the edges of the papers, photo mats and leaves together.

 .

The Heidi Swapp stickers were perfect for this more modern/fun feel of layout.

My next layout is a Masculine layout.... because I like to show how versatile Swirlydoos kits are and also even the most prettiest kit can make a masculine layout!

I created a mixed media background for this masculine layout. The Notes & Scribbles PP is perfect for a masculine layout.

I added lots of embellishments from the kit and Add On's, everything except flowers!

I have made a SNAPGUIDE TUTORIAL showing you how I put this layout together.

You find the tutorial with this link below

My next project is The Technique Kit Project.

I love OTP (off the page) projects and this one was no exception, I got so engrossed with this!

I have a Snapguide Tutorial for this project showing you how I created this
from the link below

here are some close ups of the finished project.

I loved creating this OTP project!

I did a little mixed media on the background

and lastly another Layout... 'Cherish'.

I used the Prima Rossibelle Ephemera pack for this layout to create all the layers.
I used both sides of the  PP Wildflower, I cut the amount of border I wanted of the flower side and then turned the remainder over and stuck both pieces on to a piece of cardstock.

I used the die of the month together with the Dusty Attic word chippie 'cherish' and the Studio Calico wood veneer hearts with the Viva Ferro Raspberry.
