Welcome!!!

Today is a beautiful day to reveal our April kit, Whispers of Spring.  Take a look at how pretty this kit is!  I have to tell you that when I opened my main kit I nearly fell over because of the sheer amount of gorgeous bits and bobs that were in there.  Take a look!  Go to our home page to see details on the main kit and the add ons.

We have 2 prizes up for grabs this month.  Take a look at this beauty from Swirlydoos.

Petaloo has put together $70 worth of products!!  The entire Shabby Beige collection.  10 pieces!!!  PLUS 5 packages of their brand new chipboard collection!!!

I wanted to take a quick moment to remind you to stop by the blog tomorrow and see our April SwirlyHues challenge.  It is open to ANYONE, including non-kit subscribers and there is an OPTIONAL sketch made available for inspiration. Come back to our blog on April 10th to check it out.

_________________________________________________

You have until midnight, eastern time, on April 11th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on April 12th.  Winners have 7 days to claim their prize.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:

1: Visit all of the blogs and leave a comment on each. This way we know you were there. Become a follower if you're not already. Take your time. There are beautiful things to see along the way.

Thank you for such a wonderful Blog Hop. there were gorgeous works of DT.
well I can name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club. I will do it it in connection to Swirlydoos:
Krissy, your choice on the design is perfect. it concerns everything - the paper, the embellishments, the flowers.
moreover, they are all new release, it's so cool.
and the third, the Project kits, you propose monthly as add ons, they are so wonderful. I know no one kit club with such a project technique kit. it was the main when I was trying to choose the kit club.
thank you.
and one more, all those conversation on the Forum ( very helpful tips).

Hop Hop Hop, That was so much fun to do! I've seen so many beautifull, lovely, cute and wonderfull projects that all I want now is start crafting!

The Question: Name At Least Three Important Criteria In Choosing A Kit Club.

The Answer: Untill today I didn't know about Kit Clubs so I did some research to figure out what they are all about and I get it now!

My 3 criteria would be:
1) Style, which style does the kit-club use the most and does it fit my own style.
2) What is in the monthly kits and what is the price.
3) Variety, do you get something different each month or is it pretty much the same.

Unfortunately I have a small budget for my crafting supplies and the Kit Clubs wouldn't be an option because it would be a returning spend. I absolutely love the kits from swirlydoos and I would like to buy some of those, one day!

Thank you for this lovely journey through the designing world of swirlydoos!

My 3 criterias:

2. Price (reasonable for what they offer)
3. DT talent (LOVE seeing their take before I tackle the kit!)

Thanks again,
Amarilys

Great blog hop. The sentence is "Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club." My reasons would be design team inspiration, tutorials on doing things new ways and showing how to use the products multiple ways i.e. scrapbooking, cards, tags, canvas and mini books. Love variety. thanks for sharing.

What a fun and inspiring hop.

Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club. Here are my three
1. Versitility in products (will they work for my lifestyle)
2. Product vs Price (is the product worth the price and is it current product)
3. Inspiration (are there examples of how to use the kit in several different ways. Cards, tags layouts, etc.)

Alina said...

You probably don't expect that but I am not a member of any kit club. The problem is that mainly the shipping costs almost as much as the kit itself and I don't really afford that. Oh...why the shipping costs that much?!... well... because I live in Romania. But let me tell you that the work of the DT is AMAZING! I love every single layout and project that they made! The April kit of the month is amazing! I would love the receive it!

Peggy Giovanetti said...

Well, you'll never guess how I've been spending a huge chunk of my morning!!!! Huge thanks to the Swirly DT for all of the amazing inspiration!!!!
And there is a question to be answered: Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club.
1. Inspiration. I need product that makes me roll up my sleeves, clear out the cobwebs and that gives my mojo a swift wake-up kick.
2. Variety. I don't want the same kind of thing month after month. I love shabby, I love vintage, I love (as the first kit was called) Divine Decadence, but I also love the occasional curveball of bright colors and out there designs and details.
3. Value. I guess we all want our money's worth, but I mean more than that. If a kit is inexpensive but uninspiring it's value to me is zero.
3. DT inspiration. I love tutorials, that's how I've come as far as I have!!! And I love the DT examples. So often, when the mojo is sneering at me, a quick tour of the DT gallery is just what I need to begin...
4. Service. 'Nuff said.

Thank you so much for this wonderful blog hop! I really loved hopping along and seeing all the gorgeous creations the DT girls have come up with.

The secret sentence is 'Name at least three criteria in choosing a kit club'.
My answer is:
1) Style of the kit supplies (shabby chic/clean & simple/ artsy)
2) The design team of the kit club (I think seeing such gorgeous creations of the DT really helps when considering becoming a subscriber of a kit club!)
3) Prize of the kits (since unfortunately I'm still a poor student;))

What a fantastic way to get inspired! All of the work was fantastic for this hop.

Name at least three important criteria in chosing a kit club
1. Cost of shipping...I find most of the club prices are comparable, but, living in Canada, sometimes the shipping makes it unaffordable.

2. Style....The goodies have to be something that I would pick out for me at the store.

3. Variety of content.....I like to see things that I can't buy here locally.

Question: Name at least three important criteria in choosing a Kit Club.

#1: Quality/Value: I have bought kits that "looked" good but "in person" where cheap -very sad! I learned my lesson and budget so that I can buy quality.
#2: Variety: I have found that there are no such things as "ruts" for me anymore when I buy a kit - rather than coming home with a few sheets of paper and having it just sit on my scrap table because I can find the right embellishment- I get my kit and BLAM I am foaming at the mouth waiting for a free hour to dive in with my scissors & glue!
#3: Inspiration: Lisa Valentine created a project online that I actually felt a great connection to and I followed her step by step (with changes of course lol!) I am fairly new at the online blogs and such but I would have to credit her with opening a whole new world to me in scrapping.

Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club.

When I joined Swirlydoos I really was not aware of how much scrapbooking had changed. I remember it flat with stickers. Somehow I stumbled across a website that I fell in love with. After watching it for several months I started looking around and found something similar in swirlydoos. I thought the layouts were spectacular and everyone seemed so friendly.

The next issue was cost. I felt that the cost of Swirlydoos was reasonable but I didn't realize how much more I could add on.

The third issue was kindness and learning. I was so pleased when I read a decision by Krissy that said we would not be having a place for negative comments. I was so impressed with that decision. As a retired teacher I do not think negative criticism helps people learn and do better.

Everyone at Swirlydoos is so kind and helpful.

TY for the great blog and preview.

My opinion on the Statement of the Blog HOP ( which is the 2nd one I have done and loved it) Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club.

1. All products included. Compiling every item needed to complete kit.

2. Tutorials and/or choices for assembling the kit. Or availability of designer in case of questions.

3. Value. Total kit value savings over piece by piece purchases.

4. Maybe just have Krissy in charge of assembly on every one :)!

This has been a great hop. Some of the DT I had not visited before and thus was treated to their gorgeos works of art.
The question: Name at least three important criteria in dhoosing a kit club.

1. The price and also the value. For me this would not only mean if I can afford it, but do the kits contain a collection of quality products that would cost more if purchased individually.

2. Style and variety. It seems most kit clubs follow a pattern of staying within a certain style such as shabby chic, steampunk, romantic, etc. If I choose a certain club, I would like to see an occassional surprise so that everything did not always seem to look the same.

3. Club terms. How long of a commitment is required once I join.

4. Design team and tutorials. I love learning new techniques.

Thank you for this awesome hop and the chance to win a prize.

As always, so much inspiration and talent from the awesome Swirly girls! I enjoyed this blog hop very much. Great job ladies!

Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club:
1. First and foremost I would have to say it's the total package which includes the papers, flowers, and embellies. If the total package rocks then there's no need to look elsewhere. It's like a one stop shop!
2. How welcoming and inspiring the members and design team are.
3. The challenges and tutorials! Love em, love em, love em!

Cindy Lou said...

Oh my word! The DT just makes me drool! which leads into the question at hand:
Name at least three important criteria in choosing a kit club.
For me it starts with;
1. Texture/embellies, I love texture and embellishments, inspired or handmade, I love them all!
2. Extreme ability to create almost without bounds. I have tried the plain and simple kits, but there is little room for your imagination. I like, no LOVE to play and you need more than just paper to play :)
3. Price vs value. I like to try lots of things, but it has to be reasonable in price. There has to be a good balance so that you feel like each kit should be worth a million (lol) dollars, but it's not.
Then there are other extras, like the tutorials, yours are fantastic, in fact there is none better. I am a multi-media artist and your kits really fit my need to reach out and explore! thanks for such a great DT who inspire and encourage!
