Card Day

Happy Tuesday - Card Day, you all.

Today I'm sharing some cards which are so inspiring.

Every month we have a Round Robin for Cards Challenge.

And you know.... the good thing is, that everyone can play.

So this month, Rae is our lovely hostess, and she picked some fun twists.

Here's what Rae said, how she picked her twists:

The inspiration for these twists is "The Phantom of the Opera"

1. Musical notes: sheet paper, die cuts, or any embellies
2. Roses- any kind, any color, any amount
3. Black or Red- choose one or both colors to add to your card.

Layout of the Week

Today we have a spectacular layout to share that was designed by one of our members, Patty (aka Katyoparty). Don't you just LOVE the burst of Spring colors and gorgeous leaves floating to crate a beautiful page composition? The framing, masking, paint drips and use of negative space are truly magnificent. Congrats Katy!

Altered Notebook" using the "Hello Beautiful" Kit

Happy Saturday to you everyone! It's Rae here with you, sharing my latest video.

Do you ever have the best "scrappy" idea, and when you try to remember it later when you are actually at your table it goes right out the window? This used to happen to me all of the time, but not anymore. Why? Because I have an "idea book" close by to help me remember all of my moments of brilliance. And, today, I'd like to share with you my latest idea book that I have adorned using the "Hello Beautiful" kit. It's really just an altered notebook, and it looks really pretty sitting on the kitchen counter so i can grab it!

Layout of the week - Linda Pekrul

Vicky blogging today :) Each week so many gorgeous projects are uploaded to the Swirlydoos gallery and my choice is one layout that just snuck into the gallery today. I love how Linda Pekrul chose embellishments that are a beautiful extension of her gorgeous Butchart Gardens photo. The composition, color choices and little details such as the fussy cutting of the birds are perfection. Congrats Linda!

What would Swirlydoos be without our wonderful subscribers?!? It's a pleasure getting to know these ladies on the forums and from the stories they tell through their layouts. Yes,we are an amazing community, but most of all, we're a family! We appreciate each and every member and they deserved to be spotlighted. With that being said, our featured member for May is.....

Sherrenae *Sherri Spencer*

Here is a bit about Sherri:

Hi all. My name is Sherri (Sherrenae) Spencer. I am a Revenue Assurance Specialist living In middle America with my two puppy dogs that frequently find their way onto my pages. Since my job is so analytical scrapping is my perfect answer to tap into my creative side.

Back in the early 90’s I came into possession of a collection of heritage photos and memorabilia. Included was a poem that my aunt had written about her parents and family and their life as it progressed. I started matching photos to the poem. A chance encounter with a Creative Memories consultant and my project really started to come together. Heritage photos are still some of my favorite ones to scrap today.

I’ve been a member of Swirlydoos since March 2010. I was getting kind of bored with scrapping and the Creative Memories style when I took to the internet and began to see this hobby as more of an art than a life documentation project. As I searched internet sites Swirlydoos kept popping up and I had to come and check them out. I loved the style and the quality of the products and the work the design team produced was so inspirational. I joined up and I must say, I do love my kits and plan to be a member for a very long time. The online community though, is really makes the Swirlydoos experience extra special. Everyone is so supportive, encouraging, nice and downright fun.

Here are a some of my favorite projects of Sherri's, sure to inspire you!!

Shabby Chic Spool Tutorial

Hey everyone, Miranda here today with a fun tutorial. I have been wanting to create one of these spools for quite some time! And all you need is stuff from around your house to do it, nothing fancy :) I used lots of bits from past kits on this, and I challenged myself to use purple! a color a pretty much never use! So yay! lol! hope you all like it! Of course there is a Video Tutorial!
