Autism Speaks Create and Donate Card Drive
Many of you know (or may NOT know) that my two-year-old son Mason has been diagnosed with Autism. Autism is not a disease, it is a disorder. It is estimated today that 1 in every 150 (more like 1 in 100) children is diagnosed with Autism, and that number is increasing by 10-17% each and every year, making it more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes, and pediatric AIDS combined. As of today, the cause of Autism is unknown, and there is no known cure. Autism and the Autism community lie very close to my heart. We do everything we can to ensure that we raise awareness of this very serious disorder that is silencing our son. We hope you will join us in this FIRST of many contests to grace Swirlydoos Kit Club!
One of our very own members, Danielle Wycough is holding a Create and Donate card drive to benefit Autism Speaks. We need handmade cards for any and all occasions, any sentiments, and any colors. These cards will be sold at various crops and benefits, online stores and at handmade auctions. EVERY SINGLE PENNY earned from the sales of these cards will go to benefit Autism Speaks, to help further their research in finding a cure for the millions of children in our world who are suffering right now with Autism.
Your Mission: Is to create and donate as many hand made cards as you possibly can by March 15th. You will need to mail the handmade cards to me and I will be forwarding them along to Danielle so that your amazing creations may be sold at auction to the highest bidders!
For every card you send in, you will receive 1 entry into our drawing. (The more cards, the better your chances). Once all of the cards are in, we will draw a name from our bucket and the winner will receive a $25.00 gift certificate to the Swirlydoos store! But of course, you already know that by getting involved and donating cards to help further Autism research, you are already a winner in the heart of every single mom who has the PLEASURE of having a baby with Autism!
Be sure to post here, and keep us updated and motivated by the number of cards you're able to donate! Remeber, the cards need to be delivered to us by March 15th. That gives you 2.5 weeks. PLENTY of time to use up those old scraps you have laying around. When your cards are ready to ship, you can send them to us at:
Swirlydoos7979 S. Country Club Pkwy.Aurora, CO 80016
Thanks ladies, I know that YOU can make this a huge success!
