Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
There's a thousand pretty women waitin out there
And they're all livin devil may care
And I'm just the devil with love to spare
Viva Las Vegas, Viva Las Vegas

Andie tells us that The pic is of her on the strip in Las Vegas. It was her first trip to Vegas, and the photo brought back all of the memories of the trip which meant a lot to her. The flower and feather combo came from the veil she was wearing in the photo. The colors are just perfect to depict a Vegas scene. We love how the frame is in the shape of a diamond. The cluster of flowers frames the photo beautifully. The pops and touches of red just brings out the reds in the photo, drawing attention to Andie!! The scattered pearls add an elegance to it all. Great photo and great layout Andie! This one is wonderful!!

An Autumn Greeting

"Come," said the Wind to the Leaves one day.
"Come over the meadow and we will play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold.
For summer is gone and the days grow cold."

This week, we bring to you a gorgeous Autumn inspired layout by Erin. The layout is perfect for the season, as the sentiment is about giving Thanks for life's good things. Specifically her baby girl Catherine. The orange, yellow, and golden colors that Erin used, ooze Fall...The circular shapes around the page make the leaves appear as if they are swirling. Love the splats of color, as if Mother nature was running around with her paint brush dripping color everywhere. I recognize the big orange lacy leaf as a pack of doilies I once found at the dollar store. What a perfect find that would also make a great frame!! The inspiration in this layout is truly inspiring. Thank you Erin for a beautiful page. And Catherine is the most precious pumpkin of them all!! Congrats on a piece of art well done!
What would Swirlydoos be without our wonderful subscribers?!? It's a pleasure getting to know these ladies on the forums and from the stories they tell through their layouts. Yes,we are an amazing community, but most of all, we're a family! We appreciate each and every member and they deserved to be spotlighted. With that being said, our featured member for November is.....

 *Manda Kurtz*

Here is a bit about our wonderful Manda:

Hi! My name is Amanda Kurtz, but I really go by Manda. I have been scrapping now for about 10 years, I started when my oldest son, then a sweet baby boy, was 1. At first, it was a way for me to simply remember all the cute little things he did that I knew I would forget as he got older, well, 2 more kids and 10 years later I am knee-deep in scrap pages! It has definitely helped to define who I am, not just what I do.

I would say that my style is sort of messy-pretty-altered-grunge. I love paints, inks, mediums and mists of all kinds. Some say I have a misting problem. I say, everything is better with mist! I am always experimenting with color and style, I love to take inspiration from nature and music, movies and art. I try to not do the same thing twice as I get bored quite easily.

I am so honored to be the featured member for November here at Swirlydoos! I never really had a honed-in sense of what my artistic outlet was until I joined this amazing club. From the beginning, I was welcomed with open arms and minds and I have found a great home. I am always learning and growing with the support of my fellow Swirly Savages. There is often something new to try (and buy) and I love the sharing of ideas and techniques that makes Swirlydoos such an awesome club.

Manda has always caught my eye with her misting ability. It's because of her I actually tried it. Now, I love it!! Here are a few projects of Manda's that I found in our gallery that I absolutely love!!

Our October Round Robin for Cards, has ended last week.
I would like to say a big
THANK YOU to our hostess, Linda.
You did an awesome job girl!
Linda had to pick a favorite card, out of all those gorgeous entries,
and the person who created it, is going to be featured on the blog here today.
So without further ado, here's the winner for October's Round Robin for Cards

 miss Debbie Rybolt

And here's the card that Debbie made. Isn't that gorgeous?!!!!!!

We asked Debbie, to tell a little about herself, and here's what she said:

My name is Debbie and I am a 48 year old mother to one and grandmama to a wonderful grandson..
I work a full time job as a paramedic and I am also a part time instructor.
I use to have a passion for gardening, but now scrapping pretty much takes priority.
I love to spend time at the beach and spend time with my family. I love dogs and will pretty much do anything to help a dog in need( like jump out of the ambulance in the middle of a super busy intersection to rescue a dog from getting ran over) call me crazy.... I joined swirlydoos in 2011 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have learned alot and have got acquainted with some really sweet people. Everyone here is always willing to help out... love being a swirly sister... Thanks everyone for making me feel part of the swirly family...... And by the way it is cold as crap here in North Carolina and I hate cold weather.... (laughing)
******************************

Congratulations Debbie!!!!

"Little Girls"

Karen Barnes

Little girls are made of daisies and butterflies and soft kitty cat purrs
And all the precious memories of times that once were.

Little girls are made of angel's wings and giggles and a firefly's glow
And all the happy feelings, deep inside, that we all know.

Little girls are made of cinnamon and bubbles and fancy white pearls
And snowflakes and rainbows and ballerina twirls.

Little girls are made of sunshine and cupcakes and fresh morning dew,
And these are the reasons, little one, why everyone loves you.

This week we bring you a beautiful layout created by Linda. The design is divine and the pink colors are perfect to showcase such a beautiful photo. The mix of different flowers look like they were freshly picked from a summer garden ad the fluttering butterflies add a lightness to the whole layout. We love the way the photo was framed with just some paper and the Creative imaginations frame. Looks fabulous. A zipper pull here, an angel there and some bling to round it out, you have done a pretty awesome job with your art on this one Linda. We love it!!
